and with the best part of everything you produce.
You Can also give On
What Is a Tithe?
A tithe is 10% of your income given specifically to your local church so they can continue fulfilling the will of God. If you do not have a local church you can give your tithes to a church online if you desire. (Fun fact: The word tithe literally means tenth in Hebrew.) Because the custom of tithing is biblical, many Christians and Jews practice it as part of their faith. So the word tithing refers to giving money.
What is a Offering?
Offerings differs from your tithes, It is a gift you give beyond your tithes—not instead of your tithes. A Offering is an additional amount on top of your tithes.
Does God consider Tithes & Offerings crucial to your financial success?
Malachi 3:10-12 explains:
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, (Meaning the church) that there may be meat in mine house and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field. And all nations shall call you blessed: for you shall be a delightsome land.
Should we Give Willingly?
Yes absolutely! Our attitude towards giving truly really matter. It is important to give willingly. “When one pays their tithes & offering without enjoyment they are robbing themselves a huge part of their blessing. We must learn to give cheerfully, willingly and joyfully, and his gift will be blessed”
The Apostle Paul taught that how we give is as important as what we give. He said, “Let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver” 2 Corinthians 9:7
What if im not interested in “giving back?”
Throughout scripture, God tells us that everything we have belongs to God. He made the world and all that is in it. He wants you to enjoy life, he made us and blessed us with absolutely every gift we have. Our lives, our families, our health, our education, our unique talents and skills, our job and our income are all blessings from God, entrusted into our care for the good of all peoples. Thus, when we tithe we are really only giving back 10% of something that ultimately belongs to God anyway. No one can force you to be a giver that’s something that has to come from within. Those that faithfully give can testify of the blessings they have received knowing that our God is amazing, generous and abundant. Giving back to a God who lets us keep and enjoy 90% of all His blessings is a privilege.
“The Lord’s are the earth and its fullness: the world and those who dwell in it.” – Psalm 24:1
Why can’t my church only ask for my support when it has special needs?
Many churches can’t function properly in that way, And this inevitably leads to endless fundraising activities. Truth is, there is way more the kingdom of God should be worried about and should have to do in regards to advancing the Kingdom of God. In ministry there is never an end, If churches had the funds magically appear every month churches could successfully pay their own bills and maintain their own property while helping others in the community and offering assistance. However, without a constant monthly flow of income through your generosity. churches would not be able to exist.
How to Make Tithing a Priority
Like we said, tithing is more of a heart issue than a financial one. If you’re struggling with the idea of tithing or giving, spend some time asking God to give you wisdom around the topic and show you ways that you can help others or even just be more generous. Even if giving doesn’t come naturally, prayer can help soften our hearts and refocus our intentions.
A monthly budget forces you to really pay attention to your money. So before the month begins, create your own budget so every dollar has a place to go (rent, groceries, utilities, saving, tithes & Offerings etc.). This is also the perfect time to make giving a priority for the month ahead of time. By immediately putting aside 10% of your income for tithing, you can plan better. and decide if offerings is something you manage into your budget
